and I've been in the Short Term Rental business since 2011.  I was on VRBO when it was super simple and easy, and in the industry before Airbnb was even a thing!

I bought and managed my first rental property, a small condo in New Smyrna Beach, FL while I ran a medical practice and we grew our little family!   Once we sold the medical practice, I began focusing full time on my three vacation rentals and even ventured into an out-of-state property!

My niche has become "themed" destinations whether outfitted with furniture made from Oars and Canoes, or decorated with Vintage Bathing Suits.  I have a PASSION for design and I love showing true southern hospitality in making my guests comfortable in every aspect of their stay.  The DETAILS are truly where it's at.

Over the course of this past decade, I have coached and consulted numerous friends and family on starting their own path in the STR world, and now I'm bringing it HERE to share with you.

OH BEFORE I FORGET .... you're probably wondering why this website is called "Take Your Jacket"?    Growing up, my Mother always used to say: Don't forget to Take Your Jacket!  (I was a skinny youth and was always freezing in restaurants and out in public).  Oh to be that size again, but I digress.

Later in life, she gave me stellar Financial Advice especially when it came to Real Estate!  So when I bought my first property, and it came time to pick a name for my LLC .... I chose "Take Your Jacket Investments" as an ode to the woman who had given such good advice over the course of all those years.
